1) Check your batteries

Most car batteries wear out after five to seven years of use. If you’re having any difficulty starting your car, check the date on the top of the battery and see if it needs to be replaced before your trip. 

If it’s over three-years-old, it might be a good idea to get its charging ability tested. It’s a small thing to check but could have pretty big consequences if neglected. 

2) Change your air filters

Driving around with dirty air filters can prevent fresh air from getting into your car and its engine. This is very bad, both for your sinuses and how much fuel your engine will use.
